Why is Crescendo important?
"I first learned about Crescendo as a young Christian in London, having been born again in my second year of undergraduate study at the Royal Academy of Music. At the time, it was incredibly difficult for me to understand how to relate my new faith in Christ with my pursuit of classical music. Joining Crescendo Summer Institute, I met life-long friends and saw how faith was lived out in the lives, practices and teaching of Christian musicians. This gave me so much courage that I came back to the CSI a second time. Many years have passed and by being involved with Crescendo, I could nourish my soul from the newsletter and devotion, as well as participating in other Crescendo-led activities. The reason I volunteer to be a Canada Coordinator for Crescendo is because I truly believe in the importance of fellowship, the uplifting of each other in prayers and walking alongside one another as we face many struggles in life and profession as a classical musician, especially in pursuit of artistic excellence. We need one another to walk faithfully as God-fearing, Christ-like, Spirit-filled musicians on this earth."
